"In the UK alone, billions of pounds' worth of assets are currently unclaimed because beneficiaries cannot be traced, or because next of kin cannot be found when people have died intestate."
Do you really need professional help to trace missing beneficiaries?
Ensuring that estates of the deceased are fully disbursed makes sense for both individual beneficiaries and the organisations that count them as stakeholders. Yet in the UK alone, billions of pounds' worth of assets are currently unclaimed because beneficiaries cannot be traced, or because next of kin cannot be found when people have died intestate.

Finding such individuals can obviously be a difficult and time-consuming process. Many organisations therefore find it cost-effective to outsource the job to specialists such as The Shareholder Partnership (TSP). With our extensive experience in probate research and genealogy, we can generally trace people faster and at lower expense than in-house functions.

How does the TSP search process work?
Our Deep Research Team gathers all the information it can from solicitors, executors, trustees and other estate administrators about the possible whereabouts of missing beneficiaries. In many cases, we find people have moved abroad after becoming estranged with their relatives, in which case our international network of offices can help to continue the search.

In cases of intestacy (where no will exists), we use our skills and experience in genealogical research to find distant living relatives via the family tree. Once we have confirmed they are genuine next-of-kin, we provide documentary evidence of this to our client. Then, if necessary, we can begin the process of contacting the beneficiary to explain their entitlements and guide them through a claims process. We can also support applications for missing beneficiary indemnity policies, submitting our genealogists' reports to insurance companies on behalf of clients.

Why is TSP's Deceased Estate Research Service the best of its kind?
Our Deep Research Team has decades of combined experience in tracing individuals on several continents. It frequently handles large-scale projects as part of our Asset Reunification Programmes, using our international network of contact centres to alert individuals to their entitlements. Yet it treats each search as a bespoke service, tailoring its approach to individual circumstances, right to the point of contacting the beneficiary and resolving their claim. As with every other service provided by TSP, this one puts the Stakeholder First.
